Memories #15 and #16
Memory #15: ☆ Strange Sharingan. [Note: Father is finally proud of me ↔ Ch223P02-Ch223P19] (Significant Positive)
[Won in Game #65 (Sharable: 3/7)]
What he remembered/learned:
- Saw something unusual on Itachi's eyes. "That was no normal sharingan."
- Feeling uneasy and hurt because Itachi ignored him.
- And then happy when his father asks him about the academy.
- "My father is directly teaching me this technique. At last, my father has noticed me as well! I'll fulfill his expectations!"
- Being told he hasn't reached Itachi's level.
- The manipulation of fire is an Uchiha family trait. A requirement to be seen as an adult.
- TRAINING ALL NIGHT TO PERFECT THE FIREBALL TECHNIQUE.
- Worked out the technique.
- "As expected. You are my child".
- "Do not follow after your brother".
- Feeling like he's always treated like a burden by his brother.
- TSUN at Itachi.
- "It was just like the old Itachi".
What this means:
This memory meant everything to Sasuke at the time it happened. It's basically his father giving him the acknowledgment he's been wanting to receive from him all along, instead of just comparing him to Itachi and always coming short because Itachi was a prodigy. SO THIS MEMORY IS HUGE, it gives Sasuke a lot of relief and it's like he's finally recognized as his father's son. It also gives insight to the fact Itachi is changing and that he's worried and hurt that he ignored him once. He also admitted to himself that being poked on the forehead was okay if that meant his bother was acting like how he used to be like. BASICALLY, ALL THE DERE AND CONCERN FOR HIS BROTHER.
That talk with Itachi is the last time they see each other until the massacre, if I remember right, which makes it even more significant. His father's warning especially, because it shows that Sasuke chose his brother in the end.
Either way, this memory means that Sasuke won't seek recognition anymore and he's even more proud to be an Uchiha. His clan is second in his list of priorities.
Memory #16: ☆ Killing Orochimaru. [Note: I took him over ↔ Ch342P17-Ch346P08] (Significant Positive)
[Won in Game #66 (Sharable: 2/7)]
What he remembered/learned:
- That's definitely a sword.
- . . . and I'm with a creeper and there's a pile of unconscious men that I defeated around me.
- That creeper seems to know me.
- Refusing to kill those men and claiming I'll become merciless in front of Itachi.
- Deciding Orochimaru should die.
- "There's nothing left for me to learn from you. It appears, even in front of you, too, I can become merciless."
- Feeling too powerful.
- "Couldn't get Itachi, so you settled for the little chick that was me, right?"
- Too proud of the Uchiha clan.
- Not approving of Orochimaru's methods. Comparing Orochimaru's stupid purposes with Itachi's. "You make me sick."
- Orochimaru's true identity is a white-scaled snake . . . Yeah.
- Orochimaru wanted his body. I was willing to give my body to him, but now he's weaker than me.
- Wow. Suddenly feeling more powerful. Curse seal. IT GIVES ME WINGS?
- Poisoned.
- My strength invalidated Orochimaru's jutsu.
- So this is how I absorbed Orochimaru.
What this means:
The biggest change from this memory is that . . . Sasuke will never hesitate to call someone on their bullshit now. He has less tolerance to stupidity and he won't put up with the Personae that he considers dangerous, but he's aware that he can't be too reckless about it. He also has feelings on thinking that Itachi apparently massacred the clan to measure his own abilities, so he might be very upset about it for a few days because of it. He'll have to accept that as a truth, because he trusts himself, but there's also the fact he received a memory with dere before this one and that he's been forced to deal with a lot of that in Aather. ALL THE DERE, and Itachi loves him. It's enough to keep himself sane, even if he can't stand not knowing everything.
In general, Sasuke is starting to move from the mentality of a twelve years old! He's not repressing his emotions as much as he does post-timeskip, though. Now he's more aware that doing things like leaving his village with creepers that might give him power is a thing he does. And knowing that he was a lot more powerful that he is now is kind of frustrating.
AND THIS ONE IS A SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE BECAUSE OF THAT UCHIHA PRIDE AND THAT HE KILLED OROCHIMARU. One step closer to killing Itachi. It's sad, but that's why. :'D
