Memories #43 & #44
➠ Memory #43: ☆ Second Chuunin test. [Note: My new path for power ↔ Ch044P160-Ch045P181 | Ch046P011-Ch048P65 | Ch049P072-Ch050P91 | Ch050P104-Ch050P105 | Ch055P010-Ch057P059 | Ch060P104-106 | Ch060P111-Ch063P183 | Ch060P111-Ch064P024] (Significant Negative)
[Won in Knight game #13 (Sharable: 0/3)]
What he remembered/learned:
- The second Chuunin test is a survival one with no rules. All the teams that get to the tower with both scrolls in a certain amount of time will win.
- He's observant enough to notice a cut is missing or things are in the wrong position, or if they're being observed.
- Orochimaru is Sasuke's first experience with real fear.
- He's taken aback by Naruto's strength and inability to give up or let himself feel fear.
- Ends up fighting with all he can until Orochimaru puts the Cursed Seal on him and leaves. With apparently the promise Sasuke will eventually go with him.
- He goes a bit insane after letting the power of the Cursed Seal go through him, but Sakura stops him.
- Kabuto '-'
- They pass and he gets to learn more about Konoha.
What this means:
This memory is basically the whole Second Chuunin test and all it entails, so there won't be a lot of effects due to this all being part of Sasuke's life already. The only thing is that his ability to see everyone as an enemy for the sake of a test or a game is going to increase, but he didn't have a real problem with doing that for games before.
All in all, it's a painful memory where the Cursed Seal is concerned and the rest is going to make Sasuke care more about Team 7 as much as he's going to hate that. Also, it's important to mention there's a lot of internal struggle during the time he's under the fever of the Cursed Seal.
➠ Memory #44: ☆ Itachi is back. [Note: Such a difference between us ↔ Ch139P086-089 | Ch140P103-106 | Ch142P136-137 | Ch144P175-Ch148P01] (Significant Negative)
[Won in Game #141]
What he remembered/learned:
- Brief moment in the funeral of the Third Hokage! Iruka gives cheese speeches.
- SWEETS ARE THE WORST.
- It's a miracle when Kakashi arrives first?
- Goes to learn about the Uchiha clan and the Sharingan at the secret hideout.
- Feeling frustrated and angry over Naruto being stronger than him and telling Sakura that Naruto was the one that saved her from Gaara.
- Finds an injured Kakashi with other jounin in the least suspicious way possible! Then another one enters to ask if the story about Itachi being back and going after Naruto is true! Sasuke is livid and goes after him.
- Does his best to track Naruto down while feeling rage over remembering the massacre.
- Itachi breaks his hand and beats him up badly.
- "What have I been doing all this time?"
- Itachi mindfucks Sasuke and makes him relive the "modified" death of their parents for 24 hours until Sasuke falls into a comma.
What this means:
The whole confrontation with Itachi is the breaking point that makes Sasuke aware that he'll remain weak for as long as he stays in Konoha. That's what makes it so significant, even if Sasuke had a mild idea of what happened here because he already knows what happened right after he wakes up from that comma.
On the other hand, it's obviously a very painful memory for him on several levels and I'm not making him remember the massacre as it actually happened even if he keeps having flashbacks (of what he considered to be true for a long time) about it because it deserves its own memory. It doesn't change how painful it is or its impact, since it's one of the times Itachi is actually a huge asshole to Sasuke. The worst part of it is the mindfuck and it's going to make Sasuke pass out whenever he takes it.
He might want space or punch Itachi or both. WE WILL SEE.
